Empower Palestinians with Your English Skills: Here’s How You Can Help

Volunteering in Palestine: A Unique Opportunity for Cultural Exchange

Individuals who choose to volunteer in Palestine bring a diverse range of intentions, objectives, and skill sets. The Palestinian Center – Go Palestine offers various programs that enable international volunteers to share their expertise and experiences with enthusiastic Palestinians seeking to enhance their cultural and professional development.

One notable program, the Teach English in Palestine program, allows foreign volunteers to impart practical English skills to Palestinian students, enhancing their conversational fluency, reading, listening, and writing abilities. Volunteers at the Palestinian Center engage with Palestinians both inside and outside the classroom, making a meaningful impact on a daily basis.

Roles of English Teaching Volunteers

Prior to delving into the ways in which English teachers support Palestinians, it is crucial to understand their responsibilities. Participants in the Teach English in Palestine program are tasked with designing and conducting English classes, as well as participating in Arabic lessons with Palestinian Center staff members.

Volunteers are assigned various English classes to prepare and lead each week, either as the main instructor or as a Teaching Assistant. Those with higher English proficiency are designated as primary instructors, while others serve as Teaching Assistants to students beginning their English studies.
